This is 100% the content I came here for.

I can't add much because you guys are well beyond me in the automating part but I plan to add #RoomAssistant to my setup, once #RaspberryPi become readily available again. It uses #BlueTooth LE to detect presence. I need to look into it more but I like the idea at least.

RE: Raspberry PI not available: Check out some old Dell/Lenovo mini-PCs with 8-core Intel and 8/16 GB of RAM. You can install proxmox to it and on top of that Home Assistant in a virtual machine. There will be enough power to run all the other home services too and proxmox makes it all easy to manage.

It will not be much bigger than a Raspberry...
@pimeys Excellent points and I am looking to move my instance off a #RaspberryPi 3 in the next year. I actually meant, and wasn't clear, that I want to use #RaspberrypiW2 in each room to sense other Bluetooth devices and recognize occupation which will then allow me to trigger automations.
