Hey folks!

Darklang is a #ProgrammingLanguage, editor, and #PaaS, developed in public on #GitHub.

It started in 2017 and has had a tumultuous time, but is still being actively worked on by a small team led by @paulbiggar.

Darklang's goal is to make it 100x easier to build #backend #services. It's a #functional programming language, with some novel ideas, such as #TraceDrivenDevelopment and #deployless.

@darklang @paulbiggar Well this is interesting! Going to give this a shot sometime. Seems like there might be a bit of a learning/tool curve, but could be worth it!

I automatically trust any backend service that makes frontend design choices like https://darklang.com/ :D

@abraun @paulbiggar Lol, so embarrassed by the website. Working on a new one.
@darklang @paulbiggar Haha nah, I'm semi-serious--I see a lot of open source backend sites with rough-looking frontends, which, to me, means that 100% of the passion is going into the back. "Don't judge a book by its cover" definitely applies in backend-land!
@abraun @paulbiggar Part of the new site is to try to keep it feeling like a community project, rather than a big shiny/flashy SaaS app. But I'd like it to also not be ugly ๐Ÿ˜‚
@darklang @paulbiggar Laudable goal! I know exactly what you mean--every big SaaS app has the same frontend aesthetic.
