holy crap, I was thinking about taking ONE class at the local community college and they are basically asking me for my life history. I have a degree from the damn place why can't you just connect the dots?

enter my gpa from HIGH SCHOOL??? seriously? where the hell would I even find those stone tablets?

I have a Master's degree but yes... that High school gpa from like 30 years ago is VITAL information.

I'm just making sh!+ up now... gpa... 4.00 why not...?
WHAT GRADE DID I RECEIVE IN MY 12TH GRADE ENGLISH CLASS?!?!?! WTF????

and now for the unanswerable security questions....
don't have an older sibling
as a military brat i don't have a "street number of the house you grew up in" or "the name of my 6th grade teacher" We moved 12 times while i was in elementary school including 3x in 6th grade.

Who makes up these questions?

lol and then I get an email... thank you for completing your application... At the bottom of this message is a link to a survey about your experience in filling out the OpenCCC Apply application.

I was really looking forward to letting them know how ridiculous the process was, and BOOM the url generates a 403 error message. LOLOLOL

@MsMerope I always just treat them like another password, so it doesn't matter what the question is. I could have things like my teacher's name being
basket8-tuliP-smile. (I keep my answers noted in my password manager.)
@jeridansky I have a set of stock answers for all of them like "p00phead" and "ridiculous??Rridiculous" The questions are always just so white middle class americky
@MsMerope I never much thought about that, since I basically ignore the question itself, but you've got a good point. "Best friend in college" is one I got; that's quite an assumption.
@MsMerope you're right - the standard "security questions" are ridiculous and not at all secure. I create random answers to these questions and then store the answers and the questions in my password manager. But I'm a bit odd.
@MsMerope thank you! I was a navy brat. Only child . Moved every 2-4 years who the heck knows the name of my school or street or whatever.

@anevilweasel lol we should make up a military brat list of security questions. "how many states did you live in during elementary school?" "what military base had the best px?" "which was your favorite DoD school?" "quote one line from your favorite military parody anthem"

we will fight for lunch and recess and to keep our desks a mess...

@MsMerope how about “ how many countries “. Also…”how many attempted coups and or revolutions did you experience ( not including Jan 6)”. Also…” how many autocrats and or dictators did you see (again, not including t@ump)
