@EdenLinnea The WE mods have explained it by saying that, especially with the huge influx of new users to those instances, those mod teams are not at all able to keep up with the negative elements in those places and harassers and the like keep getting through. They said that they might reconsider the defederation in the future if the mod teams bulk up and can act more effectively. WE is saying that they’d prefer to block everything just so their own users don’t have to risk encountering those negative elements. At least, this is what the WE mods said on their posts; maybe other places are thinking the same. :/
