After my mom got repeatedly banned from Twitter due to incendiary behavior, I set her up with a new Twitter that only has WholesomeMeme and Tasty Japan on it. When I tried to explain why moving to Mastodon might be desirable given the state of affairs, she asked, “Can I get Tasty Japan there?” I had to admit defeat. Anybody know if there’s a Tasty Japan-like cooking videos thing on Mastodon somewhere? I’d like to follow it too, tbh. I also would miss Tasty Japan if birdsite went to hell.

I don’t think anybody else following me is on these, but weirder.earth is defederating from mastodon.online and mastodon.social, if we suddenly vanish from your stuff. :(

I am now struggling to find an instance that allows mastodon.social purely so I can keep following Neil Gaiman. *sweats loudly* Currently I’m waitlisted for plural.cafe, as that lists mastodon.social as “limited” rather than “suspended”? I hope that’ll let him through. As it is, I’m just used to using weirder.earth for everything, so that’ll probably stay the primary account. :/

The new snake, instead of going on the warm side of his tank or literally anywhere else, just lets his cloaca go inside his hide. Just makes a pool of fluids that leak out in a gross little lake, stays coiled up inside on top of it all. I really should give him a bath every time I pull him out to clean it. You icky little animal, what would you do if you were in the wild and living in a repurposed rat burrow?? Marinade in your own byproducts forever??

For the record, there will be some holes in the Kinktober series because I’m still writing some of the fics - Days 3 and 4 are a couple of those (I think there’s eight total). They’ll be posted as soon as they’re done. It’s been a rough couple of months and I wasn’t able to do all the writing I wanted. :P :(

Our Western hognose snake, Kyoudai, died rather suddenly. I’m going to be reciting the Liberation Through Hearing for him and sponsoring mantra recitations and probably a thangka through http://www.mahakaruna.org . Not sure if I trust myself enough to do phowa or zhitro well enough for this, but maybe the thought will count. :/
