I must admit that I feel a little out of my depth here. It’s still unfamiliar and I don’t understand how it all works. Like how do you search for people? Help me 😬

@Roobiefox if you know the handle of the person you are searching for, you should be able to put them in the search box. If they are on another server, you need to write out the full handle eg. @[email protected]

If you are searching for people from Twitter but don’t know their handle. Go to https://debirdify.pruvisto.org and connect it to your Twitter, it will scan the bio of everyone you follow and add handles.

@toby @Roobiefox Toby, I think debirdify really only works if the person on Twitter includes their Mastodon details in their Twitter handle, e.g. in my case "Neil Cameron 📷 🤪@Option1[dot]aus[dot]social"
Or at least that's how I read it. However, it does at least pick up those people & did help me find at least a proportion (~1/4 I guess) of people.

@Option1 @Roobiefox yep, that's right – it can only identify people by scanning their twitter bios for mastodon accounts
