“The Constitution doesn’t guarantee Americans freedom from religion…the American founders never thought that religion shouldn't be forced on people in schools, workplaces, and communities.”
-Mike Pence

What do you think will happen when high-level hard-right-wing authoritarians aren’t held accountable for their actions?

@flexghost the fall of empires. And experiments in greatness. We were what the world needs. Until we wer.
@flexghost damn. No edit button here either.

@flexghost what's left of the "good" parts of Christianity will disappear, and we will all be held to the hypocritical standards of those in power, of course.

It will not be what Mike Pence expects, but he will be gleefully blind to that until it is far too late.

@stephenczetty good parts?

@flexghost you know, "be nice to each other," "be charitable," etc.

I mean, in theory.

Haven't really seen it in practice.

@flexghost
It's in Amendment 1 of the U.S. Bill of Rights:

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

@James_Seattle I don’t think they’ve ever read the constitution. Just a quick synopsis and fill the gaps with likes and wants and a vague impression
@flexghost. I don't see the word "forced" anywhere in here....
@Crash989 it’s implied?

@flexghost. I can see that...I guess I just would like to see it individualized (to each his/her own)...

In my utopian world of bliss...😅😅
