A #RetroCaturday picture (the only one I have) of the family #cat from my childhood. He was a large muscular cat, and made a specialty of affectionate headbutts to the jaw that would have you blinking and seeing stars.

@angusm He looks gorgeous. How was he called?

@Sylvhem He was named Losti, because he was a stray.

And because we found him at Christmas, and we'd just opened a Christmas cracker that had the following Franglish knock-knock joke inside:

"Toc toc."
"Qui frappe?"
"Losti."
"Losti qui?"
"Oui."

@angusm That's wonderful. I wish I had pictures of my childhood cat.
@angusm @angusm beautiful, I love the row of glass jars, the white tiles, the hanging pots and pans, and then those intense-looking tiger stripes! The room looks so interesting… I’m curious: when this.. kitchen? ..was built? Is that a stove or a fridge or…?
@wallflower The house was probably built in the late 19th century, but the kitchen was probably redone in the 1970s. It looks dingy because the picture was taken in poor light (and then scanned from the print). The cat is sleeping on top of a small gas boiler, which replaced the coal-fired furnace that was there before.
@angusm Beautiful!! ❤️❤️🐈❤️❤️
@angusm lol you walk in the garage and he is lifting paint buckets up and down. Turns and hisses at you in a deep voice. You just quietly back up and go through the door.
