Used Debirdify to map my Twitter followings to Mastodon, but when importing the CSV here, it says "Your data was successfully uploaded and will be processed in due time" and then nothing happens. How long do I have to wait? @Mastodon

@aspiers

Eventually consistent :-)
I think this lands on a sidekiq queue, which might take a while on a busy server.

I upload the CSV files from fedifinder and trust that they will show up at some point.

@aspiers
From all I'm reading about server load and sidekiq, I'm guessing the answer is 'It depends' :) Happened quite quickly on my server though, like, under an hour.
@baob Well I've waited over a day now and still nothing. I highly doubt it's going to magically process at this point. Just tried again and still nothing.
@baob I've just emailed staff@, hopefully they're not too swamped to read it!

@aspiers
Depending on how many you have to import, this tool might help ... it lets you follow accounts one-by-one via the web interface, in addition to the batch import.

Fediverse accounts of your X/Twitter followings

@baob Thanks. I already tried Fedifinder's CSV import, but didn't spot the follow feature because it was actually broken until I realised that AdBlock was breaking it. But using that would require hundreds of mouse-clicks (possibly even thousands later, as I expect the mass migration from Twitter will continue for months). I'd much rather help the Mastodon folks diagnose and fix the import bug; then others can benefit from this important migration process too.
