After knocking about here for a few months, here are some tips for other ex-bird site people:

Use hashtags, it's the main way to find people & for them to find you.

No algorithm, so it's not a competition. Favourite posts you like, but boost/reblog to help them reach a larger audience.

It's etiquette to use content warnings/wrappings. Content need not be triggering/sensitive, but something others don't want cluttering up their timeline

Add text to images

@marcxsmith one of the best ways I've seen to think about content warnings is to use them like headlines. That way people get the idea of your toot and can choose to engage with it or not.
