So what's the correct collective noun for people on Mastodon? Mastodians? Tooters? #newbie
@hail2thetealeaf Been going with Tooters myself ๐Ÿ˜…
@Pidgerydoodar there's something about the word toot that makes me inexplicably happy ๐Ÿ˜Œ
@Pidgerydoodar @hail2thetealeaf
I think tooters works well though Mastodonians might fit
@diverdutch @hail2thetealeaf I like both, but Tooters give me a smile ๐Ÿ˜…
@hail2thetealeaf I've read 'Donners' but I just landed here.
@hail2thetealeaf it needs a new name
@_ade perhaps we have the opportunity now to come up with something good!
@hail2thetealeaf Trunk? Or is that too phallic?
@_ade @hail2thetealeaf

There was a discussion on that very topic as late as yesterday. I think the general conclusion for now ended in Fedinauts, mainly because:

* It includes all of the text-based Fediverse services, not just Mastodon
* It plays well with established namings such as "FediTips" and "FediFollows"
* It obviously gives an indication of exploration
@mathias @hail2thetealeaf Hmmm ok. I canโ€™t imagine saying โ€˜Fedinautsโ€™ in real life without feeling quite silly :/
@_ade @hail2thetealeaf I hear you. Personally I recoil at any of the names that assumes Mastodon is The One And Only Service We All Use. I host several Fediverse instances myself. None with Mastodon.
@mathias @_ade Fedinauts is quite catchy though!
@hail2thetealeaf @mathias True. I just have a low cringe threshold, sounds a bit self-aggrandising
