My hope with #MedMastodon when I joined was not a replica of Twitter but a chance to start anew.

Things I hope stay behind on Twitter:
Clout chasing, pandering, virtue signaling, and plagiarizing ideas β€” srsly give credit where it’s due it’s not that hard. 😑

@austinchiangmd this! We are are actually running a workshop in a couple of weeks about parasitic aggregation because this was rampant on the birdsite. Now have to completely redesign the session. πŸ˜…
Virtue signaling one of my pet peeves
@austinchiangmd @drntasler could anyone explain to this dumb rheum-dog what virtue signalling is so I can avoid doing it? I might be a pet but I don’t want to be a peeve 🐢
@Franklindog @austinchiangmd putting us on the spot πŸ˜… I first encountered it as comments, posts that made me feel uneasy although they seem to say the morally right things. Like the people filming themselves giving food or money to a homeless person (1/2)

@Franklindog @austinchiangmd the OED has a good definition:

"[...] the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue."

@drntasler @austinchiangmd oh I know *exactly* what you mean. I nip people’s heels when they do this 🀭
@Franklindog @austinchiangmd good doggy πŸ˜…
It's really nasty.
