What's your favorite book that you read this year? Mine was Aspects, but John M. Ford.

Aspects instantly struck me as one of the best things I'd ever read. The book is absolutely next-level, earning itself a permanent place on my shelf. I proselytize it to everyone I meet. There's a lovely forward by @neilhimself as well.

So, what's yours?

Book Review: Aspects by John M. Ford — Strand Magazine Strand Mag. John M. Ford passed away before completing this book, yet it is one of the greatest works of literary fantasy I have ever encountered..

Medium

@indubitablyodin @neilhimself As a fantasy junkie I am hesitant to read a novel knowing it won't be book 1 of a series. This one sounds so interesting though I might make an exception.

My favorite book this year was The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison.

@LadyLisa @indubitablyodin I love The Goblin Emperor, too! I read it for the first time at the beginning of the pandemic and have re-read it several times since. It’s joined my list of favorite re-reads, some of which are Kiln People by David Brin, Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, and Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome.
@NancyKorendyke @indubitablyodin I've not heard of the other authors you mentioned but Pride and Prejudice is an all time favorite of mine since high school.
