How do you feel about the possible demise of Twitter?
@MJCarty I have mixed feelings, met so many wonderful people there like you! And yet had more recently had to step away from some of the more difficult aspects and narrow my group. So for me, this place feels like a lovely opportunity to regain all that I loved about it. And to not make the same mistakes that I made before if that makes sense? But I do hope that Twitter itself can find a way through too. It’s such a lifeline against loneliness for so many. How about you?
@ArtfulPractice I know what you mean about the kind of "starting over" feeling.
In many ways, I feel like the interactions I can have on Mastodon give me the same feeling I had in my earliest years on Twitter.
Obviously Mastodon is not a like-for-like Twitter replacement, and nor would I want it to be.
It is its own thing, and will doubtless continue to evolve its own unique identity.
