No matter the final tally, this will serve as a pretext for bringing Trump back to Twitter. 'No' prevails? "Well, there was a lot of debate!" 'Yes' prevails? "The people have spoken!"
@marcprecipice my first question: can one still post to Twitter once they are imprisoned?
@mathowie We'll have to take that to the Supreme Co—fuck.
@marcprecipice @mathowie the “powers that be” will never hold him to account. No matter how egregious the old regime was, the new regime won’t/can’t imprison them or they’d only establish an “imprison the old regime” precedent. The next regime would pardon T., and imprison B. So that’s a chess piece exchange that will never *ever* be initiated.
@secretgeek @mathowie it's hard for me to imagine him being imprisoned, in part for the reasons you mention. But, there's precedent for getting people out of office when warranted. Nixon was a weird set of circumstances, but he got the boot (and a pardon). I don't believe he'll get jail time and I'm not holding my breath for any consequences, but I'm not completely without hope.
