DAWS.. Plugins... Music production isn't cheap! #music #daw #musicproduction

@Syleron Follow me. I offer mastering services only with free software ( As in Freedom, I do support the devs). and a lot of DIY hardware.

And I talk about exactly this.

You can start and stick with free software, and produce professional results.

@openmastering followed πŸ‘ I will keep a look out cheers.

@Syleron Quick question: would you be interested in starting a path to free music production?
Do you need alternatives to some of your favorites plugins?

@openmastering @Syleron hi there! I'm trying to make music with Ubuntu since a few weeks and I would like to buy the arturia minilab 3 midi controller, don't know if it will work OK with my Linux system and my daw (ardour for now). I'm all new with all this... Maybe you have some advice? Thanks
@Arunonototo @openmastering sorry I haven’t used any controllers with Linux yet so I cannot say if the minilab 3 will work or not. Let me know if it does :3
@Arunonototo @Syleron The minilab 3 is said to work also in MCU mode. And ardour supports MCU. So basic controls will defintely work. I don't know if everything will be supported, but most of is probably fine.
MIDI is a fairly old standard, and well implemented. If a controller outputs MIDI, it will be picked up by any MIDI-abled software. But it might not light up or use device-specific features.
@openmastering @Syleron thank you so much! I will test it and give a feedback
