@gpkiely You're not alone in that... It's a bit like trying to cook up a meal you loved at that one restaurant that one time, but you don't have a recipe and are missing at least half the ingredients. An opportunity for experimentation and creativity ;)

@gpkiely So long as you have the little globe down in the posting window see attached photo -- that post can be seen by anyone in the fediverse. If you have a little lock, then it's only your home server of mstdn.party (& your followers?).

It is really hard to find people and posts here - so you have to actively seek out folks and follow them. When you do, their toots appear in your home feed, then you have a Local feed for just your server, and a Federated feed for everyone else in the world.
