I just tried to get the bivalent booster, and the first big pharmacy I went to wasn't taking walk-ins, and the two small local pharmacies I went to didn't have it at all.

It's harder to get a booster than it used to be.

@grammargirl I scheduled at CVS here (Alabama) and the location nearest me had many openings. Hope you are able to find one!
@grammargirl
Can't believe they weren't taking walk-ins. Crazy.

@zboy @grammargirl Could it be because it’s hard to plan out how many doses to have on hand and “ready” from refrigeration? I hear the number of people who’ve gotten it is dreadfully low (~25% if I recall), so there should be enough supply.

Just got mine tonight (and flu) at the local Walgreens, but did make an appointment.

@grammargirl We made appointments with CVS and/or Walgreens.
@grammargirl this concerns me. First, yay you for trying to get boosted. I’m immunocompromised so the more vaccinated people the better (so many boosters). Second, what does it say about us today that this shoul be hard? I like going out a bit too when I can.
@grammargirl I hope you’re able to get it soon! It shouldn’t be hard to get 😓
@grammargirl Your doctor probably has some. That's where I got mine. (From my doctor, not yours 😉)
@grammargirl Any hospitals nearby? In my town, the local hospital gives them and it’s always empty. But you do have to make an appointment.
@grammargirl Please don't give up. Definitely make an appointment.
@grammargirl FWIW, I was able to schedule one online and there were plenty of appointments available. I dunno if that’s possible for you in your locale.
@grammargirl Regardless, good luck! I hope you are able to get one soon!
