Some journalists are having a visceral reaction to all of this. They hate the idea of losing Twitter, RSS is unidirectional, Mastodon is “difficult” and “slow” they say - it upholds being “nice” instead of humanly gritty etc

Some may characterize Twitter as a “flat” platform on which anyone could participate, but it wasn’t really. It’s a centralized platform, with reach limitations. For journalists it was/is a rich source of users from whom they could source thought and information for stories.
