Think of people around the world tonight who need Twitter to get their voices heard, to document human rights abuses and injustices, to get attention, expose war crimes, and more.

All of them could be about to be cut off because the world’s richest man wanted to own the libs.

@fallenpegasus @mehdihasan I guess I don't understand what you mean here. The virtue of Twitter was that you could have tens of millions of people on it and there were like-minded groups like groups for diaporas in various nations or minorities or different languages and interests. I always compared it to a huge cocktail party where you mainly stayed at the table with your friends but would sometimes walk around to see what other people were up to.

@fallenpegasus @mehdihasan Its the federated timeview that tends to de-group people so that seems to be where the conflicts over tone show up. Twitter kept a lot of posts from different tables from disturbing other tables.
