@edutooters or anyone familiar with #MathJax? Been tinkering with it and would love to know of experiences with #ScreenReaders or other #AssistiveTech.
Just realised my OP asking about #MathJax implementation with VLEs and the experience of #screenreaderusers with that option may be of interest to the #mathstodon hashtag gang. Anyone got any experience with mathjax and blackboard VLE? Trying to gauge if CDN or own installation is a better route, or just generally gather info in how it works with VLEs. Already had some great help, but anyone wiling/able to chip in welcome and appreciated!
@petrrpeasey @edutooters in most cases #MathJax is how the #screenReader interacts with #mathML in Chrome. Firefox doesn’t need it.
Hey @mrhunsaker! Thanks for the input. I'm looking at using #MathJax in a VLE. I like the context menus, hover-zoom and tabbing it provides, but also that it offers those things without asking much from equation writers. A little change of syntax and #MathML and #LaTeX both get a significant accessibility boost. I don't know how it feels for a user with a #ScreenReader, so would love some input on that, and if someone has tips getting it to play with Blackboard I'd give coffee/beer/respect, etc.
