First day as a house husband. What am I supposed to do today?
@TonyPrintezis Did you make coffee and empty the dishwasher? Leaves need raking, too.
@TonyPrintezis
Cooking dinner on a weeknight definitely helps a relationship which might be under some uncertainty stress, from my experience
@gkindel Agreed! I cook frequently on weeknights!
@TonyPrintezis
How? 😂
I think I start too late, and that means eating around 8 or 9
@gkindel Easy recipes, so you can put them together quickly. Or something that needs to be braised for a long time so it can be in the oven while you're working.
@TonyPrintezis when I took my year off, actually _not_ do anything and spend time with my (inner) self was the hardest thing to do.
@TonyPrintezis make some ice cream! SeriousEats has a great recipe for Old Fashioned ice cream 🤤

@hlin HEY! Long time, no see! How are you doing?

Have always been reluctant making ice cream as I'd need an ice cream maker (i.e., one more gadget to have in the kitchen!).

@hlin But old fashioned ice cream sounds DELICIOUS!
@TonyPrintezis https://www.seriouseats.com/old-fashioned-bourbon-and-orange-ice-cream-recipe I made that recipe, it’s really good. But I think I used a bit too much orange zest. I also think it’s a good idea to strain the mixture before churning too, but it’s very tasty indeed.
Old Fashioned (Bourbon and Orange) Ice Cream Recipe

An ice cream with all the boozy depth and surprising delicacy of an Old Fashioned. It's bourbon-forward, but carries subtle notes of citrus skin and aromatic bitters.

@TonyPrintezis It’s been a while indeed. I’ve been doing well over at Datadog, it’s a great place to work, but I hope you’re alright after the last couple of days!
During the last year I’ve got into making ice cream and sorbets, I’ve just been using my Kitchenaid with the ice cream maker accessory, which lives in my freezer. So it doesn’t take up too much space.
@hlin We also have and love our KitchenAid. Unfortunately our freezer is generally full. But I’ll look into it!
@TonyPrintezis Develop recipes for Tony’s Bistro.
@stuartmarks Not a bad idea. Practicing today, FWIW. 😉
@TonyPrintezis Hey Tony! I was afraid to ask what your situation was. I'm glad to see you're over here.
