I will admit I am quite ignorant to the wider global situation but here in Finland the government has said that masks are no longer necessary as the threat level of the current strains is just on par with your average flu.

@FredMcCauley to mitigate the risk. Long covid is a real thing over here. As someone who has gone from healthy to not healthy I’d not wish this on anyone. Not the covid I’m so worried about (for most!).
