@JCEarl @quirkypastor Actually only a few will be in hell forever as stated by the Quran on many occasions. Rest Allah knows the best.

@hearthborn @quirkypastor I think I'm seeing a few different interpretations in this thread, which I fully expected. Goal was not to start any kind of fight, just to learn.

Thank you all!

@JCEarl @quirkypastor I didn’t get any fight vibes. All in all hust a discussion and a healthy one at that from my part.
@hearthborn @JCEarl nope. No fighting. Just asking questions and learning. 😉 I am curious however if like in most other religions, there are differing understandings/interpretations of this? Like Christians have a really varied and broad understanding of hell, depending on who you talk to or what denomination they’re part of.
@quirkypastor @JCEarl Oh yes, there are alot of variations and teachings in Islam as well. I mean there are the Shias Sunnis Salafis Ahmadis Wahabis etc all with their versions of interpretations. So majorly Sunnis and Shias are the two main ones with their own theological understandings of Islam and the Prophets.
@hearthborn @JCEarl I loved learning about Sufi 🥰 but I’m an artist so that whole cosmic dance of the universe stuff is up my alley.
@quirkypastor @JCEarl My mentor is known as the Father of Sufism. If you see some of my recent blogs you will know what I talk about.
@hearthborn @JCEarl for example this gentleman seems to differ on this. I learned more the way you are speaking of, but this seems to contradict that
@quirkypastor @JCEarl So yea basically there are people who take the literal word of the Quran without considering their origins, context, sources etc. They forget the 7 layers of the Quranic verse and stick to the literal meaning. Who goes to heaven and hell is completely to God, however there are also certain actions and indicators mentioned in the narrations. But If I pride that Im m Muslim and only ill go to heaven and everyones going to hell, is not how it works
@JCEarl @hearthborn @quirkypastor There will always be strong disagreements just as you find in every religion and every secular ideology. Accept what is most beautiful and humane, what resonates with your good heart the most. We’ll find companionship there. 💚
@laurysilvers @JCEarl @quirkypastor True. Thats kind if the self ego clash.
@hearthborn @JCEarl @quirkypastor even then watercress will grow in its depths as the chastisement ends. God’s mercy encompasses all of creation. There are lots of Muslims who deny this because they are vengeance oriented, but since we meet the God of our belief on the last day, I’m going for the Merciful and The Compassionate! People taking big risks with prioritizing vengeance!
@laurysilvers @JCEarl @quirkypastor Yep that sums up pretty much everything that I too believed in.
@laurysilvers @JCEarl @quirkypastor The most beautiful experiences can happen through the right reading and knowledge. One such connection that I was able to make today was with this amazing book that states:
@hearthborn @JCEarl @quirkypastor Lovely, what book is that?
@laurysilvers @JCEarl @quirkypastor Highly recommended from many.
@hearthborn @JCEarl @quirkypastor LOL, I had that on my shelf and never cracked it. I donated the majority of my popular Sufi books to my Sufi order’s library when I had to share my bookshelves!
@laurysilvers @JCEarl @quirkypastor Hahah woow. I only have a few sufi books ar the moment. But I am looking to make the best library so I can pass it on to my daughter when she grows up.
@hearthborn @JCEarl @quirkypastor I would imagine that best education she can have is your model of loving God and steadiness in this world. May she be blessed with a beautiful faith.
