@ruud why does this happen? Probably a newbie question? Is it possible to see and copy your post to repost it in another setting?
@ThiesK_F1 Because that post was removed and re-posted by @F1fty (Maybe they don't have the Edit button yet)

@ruud @F1fty ok, thanks!

Wait, does Mastodon have a #edit button?

@ThiesK_F1 @F1fty Yes since the v4 update this week πŸ™‚
@ThiesK_F1 @ruud @F1fty yes any instance running the latest version v4.0.x has an edit button. Alternatively there's "Delete and Redraft" which is similar.

@snookerarmchair @ThiesK_F1 @F1fty Well delete & redraft is not similar ... Edit just edits the existing post, notifying anyone who had boosted that post, and keeps previous versions πŸ™‚

The issue Matthijs had was because the original post was deleted. You don't have that with Edit.

@ruud @ThiesK_F1 @F1fty yes, very good point. I like that edit gives a notification to anyone who interacted with the original post to let them know it was edited.

@ruud @ThiesK_F1 @F1fty

How? I can’t see an edit button

@sars @ThiesK_F1 @F1fty In your post click the three dots-icon.

(In the web version. I don't think the apps have it yet)

@ruud @ThiesK_F1 @F1fty ah that explains it as I’m on the app
@ThiesK_F1 @ruud yes sorry, I kept doing typos so had to delete and re-draft as on Metatext mobile app atm.
@ruud @ThiesK_F1 I thought I had done it quickly enough before anyone had a chance to read or boost, apologies.
@ThiesK_F1 So you were replying to a removed post
