having a hard time staying off twitter because it still has a more active timeline than on here, and also bc i'm still kind of... not used to the social norms here. also because like, it still feels a little small/claustrophobic over here, just in terms of relative numbers? idk how to really mitigate this
(as an example of social norms i'm still figuring out - on twitter i use the "like" button as a sort of "i saw this / am engaging with it" button, but that seems to be WAY less of a thing here - a ton of toots I see have zero stars / I'm the only person liking it, which makes me feel weird and self-conscious about it? idk)
@kirby I think the counts you see (of likes/favourites/boosts, for example) on other users' posts are only the counts on that post *from your server*, so if you are on a server with one or few people, the counts will always seem low.
