Fun fact: I have a walkthrough metal detector in my house - I hack 'em!

They are vulnerable to interference, forced false positives*, and IR attacks!

What would you do if you could hack one?

*In the model shown, the false positive rate could only be forced to 50% (half of the time) due to manufacturer configurations.

@dnsprincess When Disney World had an incident with some dude trying to bring a gun into Magic Kingdom they rolled out walk-through metal detectors to enter a "security zone" around the parks.

The #WDW Monorail runs through the Contemporary Resort and the detector at that station was located directly below the beam. Every time a monorail train went by they'd have to stop the queue and power cycle the detector because it got so fuzzed up, which I found to be a hilarious bit of security theater.
