People want a culture of consent here but POC have not consented to racism. And now white people want to be able to opt into seeing how POC experience racism? That is the definition of white comfort. No, this is not gonna fly with me.

But that's not what's being discussed. What's being discussed is white people wanting POC to CW racism. Remember that axes of power/privilege matter in these discussions.
I am absolutely livid that someone on Mastodon would want me to consider an "opt in" culture for white people to see racism. White people, on average and given the option, would NOT opt in. That's what white privilege does.
It's also incredibly frustrating that people are "nice" about this discussion. I feel like if I shoot back with a snappy remark, I'll be seen as an "instigator". Ugh.
