Nobody asked for this, but here are 5 #IndieGames and lesser known #games I enjoyed this year:
1. #CoffeeTalk - Super relaxing game where you get to brew #coffee and listen to people's stories and troubles. Great pixel art, you can even make latte art, lots of recipes to discover, and after the main story is complete, there's apparently more to uncover!

2. #ButtonCity - a whimsical hyper-cute, neon-pastel colored game in which you follow the adventures of a new kid in town (a fox) making new friends at the #arcade. The story is great, serious at times, and all about friendship and how it's always possible to make a positive difference.

3. #LittleWood - a cozy farming and city building game kinda like #StardewValley, but with a twist! You're a hero who defeated a dark #wizard and lost all of their memories afterwards. Lovely art and music, there's always something to do, you can befriend and date townspeople, build their homes, decorate them and whatnot... all while discovering the truth behind what really happened with the dark wizard!

4. #Mutazione - a beautiful, melancholic, interactive #VisualNovel where you go visit your elderly grandfather on a strange island, and he teaches you all about growing magical gardens with the help of... music! You also get to interact with the other villagers and find out about their (mostly sad) stories. Here too, you get to slowly uncover the truth of the past, culminating in a grand finale. This one made me cry a lot, but it was also soothing, in a way!

5. #StrangeHorticulture - you're a "horticulturist", as they call it in the game; basically, you take care of strange plants with all sorts of properties, and like an #alchemist you also get to eventually brew elixirs and potions. Customers come to you asking for remedies, and meanwhile you also get to travel using a map, solve mysteries and puzzles, while uncovering a dark plot. This game has multiple endings - I always love it when choices really matter!

6. #DarkSideDetective 1 and 2 - (ok I lied, here's a 6th one) #PointAndClick game about a #paranormal detective and his sidekick. Great humour, amazing pixel art, spot-on #DarkSynth music (a bit of '80s vibe?), lots of puzzles to solve and quirky characters to meet for each case!

@itsmg I’ve just finished Strange Horticulture recently, and I loved it. With the cat and the rain, it is very cozy, even though it has an otherwise eldritch/witchy feel. Then again, that’s the combination I like

@beholderess Yeah exactly! I'm glad you loved it too. I think for me the atmosphere felt kinda like when there's a thunderstorm outside and I'm home, wrapped in a warm blanket and drinking a nice cup of tea :)
