This trial stemmed from several years of work on an early medieval #infection remedy known as Bald's eyesalve. We now have confirmation that it's really worth developing further for testing as an #antimicrobial #antibiotic preparation for wound treatment. Thanks Diabetes UK for funding!
We saw some minor adverse reactions (redness, irritation) but nothing serious. As we move to develop a defined molecular cocktail based on this complex mixture, we'll define more precisely what the risk:benefit ratio could be in terms of clinical outcomes vs. side effects.
