I have a #question on having an own #instance.

If I post something here at mastodon.gamedev.place, it is very likely that somebody will see it and even respond to it. On my island instance on the other hand my posts are very isolated. Are there any strategies to deal with it?

I could think of having a second account on a bigger instance which is used to boost the toots but I'm not sure if this is discouraged.

@worddev Your posts will only be seen by your followers. (And possibly in the Federated timelines of any instances where someone follows you, but who looks at that?.)

You’ll essentially be in the same place Twitter was when it only had a chronological timeline.

@crash You're right. I made the wrong assumption regarding the local timeline. Actually, this is good because this means the local timeline cannot be abused.
