One feature I like about #Mastodon: whenever someone modifies a toot that I had boosted, Mastodon notifies me of this modification.

This simple feature has great potential for tackling disinformation that may arise from possible toot modifications.

Around a year ago I was actually thinking about open-sourcing a script that could automatically make posts to social media (possibly distributed around multiple accounts), wait until the post gained a certain amount of likes/retweets/exposure however it would be measured on the corresponding platform and after that automatically mass edit the posts to actually say something entirely different to show the...
@jsamwrites ...implications and how this easily could be used to shape and manipulate or at least give a false impression about public opinion. Unfortunately never got around coding this though. Thank my university degree and job for that I guess. To be fair though a lot of sites have an edit history for exactly this purpose I guess. But you'd actually have to click on it and read it though so I guess the notifications are a better solution.
