Managers can't really issue orders, right? Because there is no command-and-control. So what do they do? Whisper sweet dreams into ears and coerce for the rest?

I guess what I'm asking is, what is the platonic form of management leadership (NOT c-&-c and coercion)?

@hiredthought yeah i guess some operate on the dog biscuit kind of approach of rewarding in the direction they want to go
