The river walls are a vital part of #London's #FloodDefences. Repeated raising of the river walls tells the story of changing river levels.

The walls preserve evidence of signs and symbols for mariners and others, of on-shore boundaries, such as parish and property markers and infrastructure, like cranes and drains.

The river wall at #Greenwich is partly built from reused masonry and a fragmentary inscription to 'Neighbours and Friends' survives - perhaps a fitting reminder to act together to protect communities at risk from #ClimateChange.
