Yes, the UK is hostile to foreigners…

But at least we look after our own

Oh wait…

(Spoiler: look low, very very low)

@BettinaStruff and they grudge us every penny πŸ₯Ί
@BettinaStruff I’m not sure how to read that. If you’re a more affluent country with fewer working people below the breadline, benefits will be lower. What does this actually tell us?
@HelenTheWalt @BettinaStruff The graph displays State pension. The UK is the worst country (of those displayed) to be a pensioner, with one of the highest rates of poverty in old age.
@BettinaStruff I can't believe that we are below the Americans?
@BettinaStruff The UK population has become accustomed to very poor public services, low pensions, a struggling health service etc etc. We are constantly told we should be grateful but you only need to speak to people from other European countries to find out that our services and "benefits" are shockingly low. We need to wake up and expect and demand better. Don't believe all the "it's a global issue" lies.
@BettinaStruff
Bottom in benefits, bottom in pensions, but great at INCREASING poverty, homelessness, child hunger, need for food banks & heat banks, inflation, energy prices, mortgages, rents, for ordinary people; & wealth only for billionaires, bankers, CEOs, Tory donors & cronies & MPs…

@BettinaStruff
Yet more proof that it is not our benefits system that is attracting asylum seekers.

The right wing in the country will never be happy. Show them this graphic and they will still argue that we are paying too much.
