I have decided to only to #retoot people with less than 1000 followers. If we all did that we would create less #Mastodon 'Gods'. #Twitter had far to many of them and they drowned the smaller voices out didn't they?

@jerry111 I don't mind reblogging ppl with a huge following. The important thing to me is that this is a level playing field where ppl can't buy followers and their content is not amplified by a for-profit corporate algorithm.

@jerry111 Mastodon not having a for-profit corporate algorithm and paid promotion options is a huge difference from the corporate blue fowl.

That's why I think it's totally fine to reblog accounts with lots of followers. Some accounts (like instance administrators, to name one example) just deserve it.

I don't think it's useful to demonize people on the basis of their follower count.
