It started to dawn on me (via @[email protected] ) that some of the problems people have navigating Mastodon aren’t just down to the tech, but a set of social processes that are familiar to me because I came of age in LJ communities, and stayed on DW; the way of thinking around communities, friends-of-friends etc might have gone rusty if I had not stayed with an LJ fork site. I suppose we don’t need a “friending meme” like LJ comms used to have (the # intro does the job), but I’m working on a five-slide deck breaking down the social processes with mastodon specific “now press this button to follow” images. 🤷
