Overall, I enjoy the design direction of #Windows11, but this new #search button is a mistake. It looked better when it was just an icon like the surrounding pinned #Taskbar icons. And its design is a lie! It's made to look like a search field, but it's a button that changes to an "activated" state when you click it and reveals the search menu above, where you actually type your query.
@maxleibman haven’t used windows in years! But its not enough to bring me back! Linux is my way of life now lol

@mangat I use it daily, as well as macOS and Ubuntu. While I wouldn’t call it my favorite of the three, it’s definitely where I am the most productive and more of a power user.

#Windows has come a long way, but it’s still definitely Windows. If you’re happy where you are, I say stay there!

@maxleibman with #powertoys spaces and run features for #windows11, my taskbar is completely blank and hidden. That way weird #ux_ui can't bother me.
@chiangs That’s one solution, for sure. In my case, I actually use the taskbar quite a bit and *like* the overall direction they’ve gone in Windows 11, so this little eyesore is just going to have to stay there. (Except in portrait/tablet mode—I do use my #Surface Go to read and I have their new autohide turned on at the moment.)
