I am one hundred percent certain that people would be driving down this sidewalk on the regular if those rocks weren't there. The cut-through potential is high and I've seen a lot of drivers edge up like they're thinking about it. Physical protection is the only protection.

@mbonsma there were numerous complaints from people in a small town along the Erie Canal path here when vehicle barriers were installed where it crosses streets.

Which is perplexing because at least once a year prior to that, for many years, drivers seemed to think the trail was a road, even though it's about six feet wide, and drove down it, usually ending up in the canal.

@mulveyr were they telling on themselves by protesting the barriers then? Yikes.
