The mystic beauty of Avebury Henge.

My favorite Henge, no seriously its much more impressive than its close cousin 🙂
@davidfield
We visited in January- and yes, it is very impressive. Loved it, and will go again.
@veeand great pic, that's just down the road from me
@capybara
Ooh that’s a great place to have just down the road!😊
@veeand yes it is. We're pretty close to Stonehenge as well.
@capybara
This is my down the road!
The lovely River Severn.
@veeand looks amazing! do you get the Bore going past?
@capybara
Yes! Here’s a not very impressive pic of the bore a few years ago. Even with a low star bore the sound of it coming round the bend in the river is incredible, as is the rise in the water level when it has gone past. Also, it’s great fun watching the surfers!
@veeand that's very cool. I am trying to imagine what a big one would look like!
@veeand I have always found Avebury just the most magical place.
@veeand Hi, thanks for sharing. May I ask is there a central mapped resource for finding these? I'd like to find some in the south where I might take a milky way astro image, ta Paul
@Bigbreakfast_Irl
Just type stone circles in Google maps and there they are!
Please post the milky way astro images above the henges when you’ve done them 😊
@veeand Fab, thanks will do. Might not be for a while probably late spring now - milky way season is nearly over and hard at this time of year to get a cloud free clear moonless night.
@veeand Avebury is indeed a mystical magical place.
