#Mull is sometimes called "Eagle Island" and for good reason.

There are about 30 pairs of golden eagles here and up to 22 pairs of white-tailed eagles.

The latter are easier to see, and friends of mine operate a boat trip out to see them (Mull Charters) in action.

This is from one of their trips, and is of a white-tailed eagle changing direction quickly using its massive wings.

Majestic and awe-inspiring birds.

@petewalkden I once had the pleasure of seeing two golden eagles with no effort on my part at all, simply from glancing out of the window of Lochranza Youth Hostel on Arran. One of them was holding prey. Even better, on a shelf next to me was a Guide to the Birds of Scotland so I was immediately able to defend against the cries of "it was probably a buzzard" when I returned home.
