In case anyone was wondering why no one has made a modern successor to Poker Night at the Inventory yet--I'm scripting hours of cutscenes by hand, down to the direction characters are looking at any given moment, all of which are interruptible/systemic

pray for me

@writnelson HOLY SHIT a Poker Night-a-like! Also: YIKES. I always thought a Firewatch-style (or L4D-style) tag-driven dialog system would work really well for a Poker Night game. This looks more like what we did on the original. (Which I’m happy to share some behind the scenes stuff on if you ever want.)

@ja2ke Thanks for the kind words - that'd be a really fun conversation! Because no one knows what this gate of Hell looks like unless they've been there

no one

@writnelson yeah! yeah. we ended up having acting variants of each line of dialog for whether the character was in the hand or not because when they bust out they lean back in their chair. It was madness on the content side but also kind of fun to get to make slightly different gesture choices if desired.
@writnelson we did a pax panel about the making of poker night but I don’t think it’s available online :( and I don’t have the deck anymore. Anyway…… poker night.
