DavidY@Ted The fact is nursing is a specialist skillset. In this day and age, we have a society that places money and earnings as the ultimate indicator of knowledge and skills, so why shouldn't nurses be recognised as such?
It is also fact that we have a national healthcare system. It is the remit of the state to look after the wellbeing of its population. Drugs (especially) and healthcare is expensive. If we want a decent service, we have to pay.

No misinterpretation. The NHS has saved my life twice, first time I was just 5 years old, then at 60 years old. If it goes then many won't be able to live through a bad illness. Only money will buy good health. That is just too awful to contemplate.

No misinterpretation Ted, the NHS is loved by so many. Full disclosure Im biased as worked in the NHS for decades, had a wonderful career. Recently received care and the NHS was fabulous. We must fight to keep the NHS….

@Ted so you should be able to click "Delete and re-draft" in the corner of the original Post and then you click the "A" or "Alt" in the bottom right corner of the photo and then "Set Caption" and describe what the image is of
So for yours I'd say something like "A white woman in a nurses uniform, holding a handmade sign that says" if you love the NHS, don't vote Tory"

@SeanMacK Can't do anything about the picture quality, I'm afraid. Also, why would I want to hide this behind a CW? It's pretty straightforward and not in the least offensive (unless the viewer is a Tory, in which case I don't care. However, I do accept I should add a description. Can I do that now or will it delete my post? Any advice gratefully received.
@Ted I don't think it necessary to add-to/edit that pic, or even if possible to do. Maybe find out how to put a Description on future pics.

Russell smith@Ted noted in news today that NHS is spending megabucks on agency staff. A Tory MP said a few weeks ago that if workers aren’t being paid enough they should get a better paid job. This ems to be what nurses and doctors are doing and who can blame them.
@russellS Yes, it seems to me that if they paid nurses more then the need for far more costly agency staff would be reduced very considerably. I know for a fact that agency are paid more than NHS and that the companies employing them make up to 100%!
Recently Ex NHS staff here (non nursey type). No danger of Tory vote here. I'm now registered disabled so one of those lazy scroungers they hate.
