One of the things that turned me off to that other place a few years ago was when I noticed the trend to talk less about your life, and more about whatever outraged you.

I see more then a few people have brought that bad habit over here recently. I'm not saying it didn't exist here before, it's just increased at a notable rate.

So let's boost what's going on in people lives. Boost the foodie pics. Boost the messy living room pics. Boost the Costco selfie.

Let's keep Mastodon social.

@Mrfunkedude I talked about my life on Twitter, that’s maybe why people didn’t follow me much. Probably too negative or something ( I have health issues).

@amethystbeeblebear I understand, I have health issues myself. I think when we're suffering the most, it's easy to get locked into an emotional cycle of despair. I find it helpful to try to find little joys around me.

The joy of music.
The joy of reading a good book.
The joy of friendship.
The joy of our pets.
The joy of nature.
The joy of comedy.
And more...

These are all things that you can share along with your pain. What we focus on is what we feed. Feed the little joys in your life.
