Welcome new people to the Fediverse!
The number one question I see as a first post here is "where is everybody?"
Home timeline: People you follow
Local timeline: People on the same server as you
Federated timeline: People your server knows about (Local + other servers)
If you are new, your home timeline will be empty. There is no algorithm so you decide what shows up there.
Good luck building your own social network experience! It can be as busy or relaxed as you want it to be.
