Aris Teon@jeffjarvis @Gargron contributing to Mastodon is different from contributing to a server, is that correct? Which should people choose if they can't afford both?
milk jug@aristeon @jeffjarvis @Gargron yes, that is the patreon for the development of mastodon, and is seperate from specific servers. that patreon does help to upkeep the mastodon.social server, however.
