I have a Misskey account too - @youronlyone ^_^

I haven't used it much yet, recently created. My original was in the old Misskey flagship server, if I remember correctly, was discontinued in favour of community servers so the devs can concentrate on, well, development.

@youronlyone @youronlyone Makes sense. That's one of the reasons I wanted to self host as well. The DevOps effort is something that shouldn't be piled onto volunteers.

If I get hit by the proverbial bus, it will just be my instance/account that will go down.

@logic Using a $12/month DO instance. I initially wanted to use my home server. But, it looked like I would need a cloud proxy anyway, due to lack of static IP from ISP and power issues..etc., So I have decided to go for a cloud instance.
