Is there any reason to stick with Mastodon? Hardly anyone seems to interact. It is a strangely alienating experience.

@BrownsvilleG11 I think it might just take time. I'm not a frequent poster, but I've only been here a week or so and I am slowly connecting with like minded folk. e.g. your two hashtags #atheism and #history draw me in to replying to you.

I am a big fan of the more chilled atmosphere here though. Far less agro, abuse, outrage, spam and no ads, and I like that I am just part of a community here for what its worth rather than a product on the other site. Cheers 😀

@Scarp this is really heartening. Thank you. The other place is certainly getting sinister. I like the less aggro vibe here, that's true. I hope it grows and develops into a great place to interact.

@BrownsvilleG11 I hope so too. I stopped posting on the other place completely the last couple of years just to avoid the inevitable confrontation. These platforms help me have conversations with folk I would never normally meet and I feel way more comfortable doing that on Mastodon. Enjoy your arvo.
