Just had a sad thought: when Twitter finally dies, we won’t be able to go on Twitter to laugh about it.
@scottjshapiro We can share fond memories here.
@scottjshapiro We’ll always have our memories (and screen grabs) to share and laugh at.
@scottjshapiro maybe we can get Elon to join in here
@scottjshapiro It really does feel like digital shipwreck survivors. I know that sounds dramatic but damn, that’s where I *was* during the pandemic.
@scottjshapiro
Yes, all we will have is our toots. And there's nothing funny about that
@scottjshapiro honestly part of my motivation to get this set up sooner rather than later so I would have a place to go for collective schadenfreude/grief/gallows humor
@scottjshapiro make sure to save the best content to archive.org
@scottjshapiro unless the chapter 11 lawyers will try to keep it up to have something to salvage 😉
@scottjshapiro but when the war is won, MastoZion is where the party will be
@scottjshapiro when it dies, and I dearly hope it will, it’ll be a clear sign that foaming-at-the-mouth “angertainment” (not mine!) is proven minority toxicity, and hopefully as a species we can finally tell people to button their lips on their internal racists / trolls, as we should do. This stuff used to get done in villages: social media makes them think they’re a majority. They *so* aren’t. It’s borderline mental illness.

@scottjshapiro At last a modern equivalent to "Gone West."

"... and the rest of his story is on Twitter."
