Remember, folkes, not everyone in your world will get along. Who hates each other and why?

@golgaloth I've put Dwarves and Elves against each other in my current fantasy wip because it's SO classic. I couldn't resist.

They don't get along because the Dwarves have incalculable wealth but no social interest in its value, whereas Elves are a colonialist empire in constant need of financing. The Elves constantly come up with reasons to attack the Dwarves and the Dwarves are like "omg we're just digging holes go away"

@golgaloth in one of my fantasy settings, an anomalous apocalyptic event of magical nature happened, causing Earth to change completely, and its inhabitants alike. so animals that we used to know mutated and changed. and so did some humans.

one of the fantasy races I have in this world are beastmen, which are humans that have mutated into anthropomorphic animals with human anatomy and intelligence, but animal features and mannerisms.

@golgaloth since magic in that world has caused a lot of mayhem and irreversibly changed the earth in many negative ways, in a lot of places, magic is hated and banned as a discipline, and magical creatures are discriminated against because they are "not pure" or "monsters".

of course tyrannical leaders, bigots and selfish oligarchs decided to weaponize this hate for their own goals.

@golgaloth This is such a good #character question. Nakia barely tolerates anyone, but he loathes Pip even though she’s part of Ksenia’s inner circle. At the moment, Nakia is pissed with Ksenia because she’s kept a lot of secrets, which he always suspected but not from him
